Rocking out in thongs and an Akubra hat is Adam Kesacoff, the Chief Pitmaster at The Aussie Smoker. With over 40 years of BBQing experience and hailing from Perth, Australia (where one is practically born with a barbecue) his life mission is to make everyone smile through BBQ food.
Adam makes it known that he is definitely not a chef, but someone who has burnt himself one too many times; this experience has brought out his true dedication to the craft of cooking over fire. Having lived in Falmouth, Cornwall for the last 10 years, he focuses on a low and slow approach to cooking but still loves it hot and fast at home – on the BBQ (naughty). Recently he expanded The Aussie Smoker from being an external catering company to launching an open BBQ catering kitchen that serves lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The focus is on venue hire featuring their award-winning BBQ food and a long product line which includes a range of smoky goods such as whole pork bellies, cheeses, bbq chilli jam, smoked tomatoes, and even a candle.
Family, smiles and creating memories are the most important part of why Adam does what he does. Championing local produce and other chefs, the design thoughtfully aims to bring what Australia offers to this industrial estate in Penryn, Cornwall, catering to everyday families who love to cook and parents who want five minutes to relax while their kids draw on the chalk paint walls. He believes eating amazing food is only part of what you get with The Aussie Smoker. If you are ever around him throw your chakkas and give him a big YYEEEEOOOOWWWW…and wait for the reply. Finally anyone who has ever been in contact with him will know the only way to sign off is Keep Smilin.
