The Mariners Public House is a classic British seaside pub, focused on showcasing the very best Cornish produce, sourcing locally as much as possible. They champion Porthilly oysters and mussels caught in the Camel Estuary, less than a mile away from the pub, featuring them on their menu as stand alone dishes, as well as a garnish to their classic cottage pie.

The pub’s Head Chefs, Joe Rozier and Tom Dawes, worked with Paul to build The Mariners’ menu around forgotten dishes, applying a simple ethos of fantastic ingredients cooked with great technique and loving care to make the very best version of these comforting classics. Paul and Emma’s vision for the pub was inspired by seeing how pubs have changed over the last decade, diversifying and becoming restaurants in pub surroundings.

Paul and Emma have always been inspired by their customers, and when they first took over the lease for the pub, the feedback from locals was that they felt they had nowhere to go, especially in the winter months, when so many of Rock’s establishments close.

The Mariners takes the concept of great food, but brings it back to what pubs used to stand for - a place that was there for the community. With its décor, menu, and warm welcome, The Mariners has become a cosy, welcoming pub that is there for everyone year-round.
