Pattern Pusher are an energetic funk-soul three piece from the South West who create uplifting, inspiring and optimistic music that is hitting all the right notes for a world crying out for positivity.
The band is fronted by Alex Johnstone on keys, whose soaring, soulful vocals are evocative of Donny Hathaway and Ray Charles. Benny G’s wild energy on the bass and Benny C’s grooving drum rhythms underpin an unconventional line up with a classic sound.
Pattern Pusher’s crusade of happiness has earned them a loyal fan base, accolades and support from BBC Radio 6 and BBC Introducing, and a string of festival shows sharing the bills with their idols.
Before lockdown the band and had just won the Glastonbury Pilton Party competition (judged by Michael Eavis) which led to their playing in front of 8000 people and supporting Supergrass and Wolf Alice. They’ve also performed all over the UK and on main stages at the Bearded Theory and Beautiful Days festivals.
They’ve now released their highly anticipated debut album which is already attracting the right kind of attention. Its first single, Come Along, produced by John Waddell (Kylie Minogue, Londonbeat) and mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro) is due for a May 2021 release.
Post-lockdown, the band will take their brand new music on the road with a span of tour dates. Their team has now grown to include a manager and a publisher and you are most cordially invited to join their Smile High Club!
