littlefrench – chef tipi

Our second Chefs Tipi for this year comes from Freddy and Nessa Bird, the good folk behind Bristol institution littlefrench. Freddy honed his skills at Ballymaloe Cookery School before making waves in London, cooking up a storm at The Square and Moro. He then returned to Bristol in 2008 to launch the iconic Lido Bristol before spreading his magic to Reading with the Thames Lido in 2018. Freddy and partner Nessa launched littlefrench in 2019 and we’re delighted to welcome them to Rock Oyster this year.

Freddy’s a familiar face on TV, gracing BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and co-presenting with Michelle Roux Jr on Hidden Restaurants. BBC’s Remarkable Places to Eat even featured Bristol’s culinary delights, with Fred Sirieix and Michel Roux Jr savouring littlefrench’s highlights alongside Freddy.

Expect big flavours from their menu this year, we’re excited to see what Bristolian-inspired flavours they bring to Cornwall this year!
