Gizzi has been an integral part of the London food scene for twenty years. After leaving a career as a body piercer in Camden and completing her training as a chef at the prestigious Leith’s School of Food and Wine, she quickly established herself as a chef and award-winning food writer authoring books like Slow, Restore, Skinny Weeks and Weekend Feasts and Healthy Appetite among others.

Her hugely popular sell-out live events and pop-up restaurants have established her as a leader in the London scene, and she has collaborated with some of the UK’s most talented chefs including Mark Hix, Angela Hartnett and Tom Kerridge. In 2020, she had a residency at St. Martin’s Lane Hotel called The Nittery; a Parisian-inspired restaurant in the former Asia de Cuba site and following the huge success of the weekly lockdown Instagram mini-series Giz & Green’s Monday Night Fakeaway, where Gizzi taught musician and documentary maker Professor Green how to make his favourite takeaways in isolation, Giz & Green now enjoys a life ‘offline’ on the home delivery app ‘Deliveroo’ and since the Summer in 2021 at Willows on the Roof on top of John Lewis Oxford Street, London.

Most recently, Gizzi joined The Libertines’ Carl Barât and his partner ‘Cruel Hearts Club’s’ front woman, Edie Langley, and music industry veteran Ronnie Traynor, in opening new Margate seafront venue Love Café. Collectively, they have decades of experience in live events and hospitality. Love Café is a social space to welcome like-minded locals new and old, holiday-makers and day-trippers to enjoy great food and great music of all genres. Love Café is a bastion of the very finest in food, drinks and music. There is an ever-changing roster of DJs and events, creating the perfect Margate setting.
